I've always enjoyed writing and wrote for my school newspapers in both junior high school and high school. My first professional writing job came in 1999 when I became a copywriter for the Sharper Image and wrote copy for the catalog, signs, instructions and packaging. While this wasn't a career I was interested in, I learned a lot about writing, grammar and the importance of being concise.

While working at Brave New Films from 2007 to 2009, I became the head writer/administrator of the FOX Attacks blog, which followed FOX News. I also blogged about other topics for the bravenewfilms.org blog. I currently write for the Huffington Post, where I review films and occasionally blog about politics.

Below are links to some of my favorite posts from bravenewfilms.org, foxattacks.com, my MySpace page and the Huffington Post. You can also visit my blog on Tumblr.

The Nobel Prize Wasn't for Obama -- It Was for the American People. Do We Deserve It?
the Huffington Post - Oct. 13, 2009

The Nobel Peace Prize wasn't for Obama. It was for us, the American voters who elected him and slammed the door on the Bush era, as well as a long history of racism and bigotry. So instead of asking whether Obama deserves the award, the much more important question is whether we deserve it.

21 Reasons Why McCain’s VP Pick is HILARIOUS!
bravenewfilms.org - Aug. 29, 2008

McCain’s choice of Alaska’s Sarah Palin shows that, by attempting to think outside the box, McCain has found a previously undiscovered way to lose a no-win situation. Seriously, choosing Palin is utterly ridiculous. Here are just a few reasons that I thought of without really trying.

Creepy Republican Pervs Like Larry Craig Make Me Laugh…Then Make
Me Sad
bravenewfilms.org - Aug. 28, 2007

A man who spent his career trying to deprive gays of their happiness was so desperate for the happiness he could only find through the touch of another man that he was willing to throw his whole career away in an incredibly risky gambit just to get it. In a crowded airport bathroom.

Debate Analysis: McCain (blink) Loses (blink blink)
bravenewfilms.org - Oct. 16, 2008

McCain needed a knockout, and he didn't get one despite his wild, desperate, flailing attacks. Not by a long shot. Obama played defense, easily defending the charges McCain laid against him (when he had time to answer them all) and occasionally walloping McCain with the rebuttals. That's why Obama won the third straight debate.

Debate Analysis: McCain Acted Like A Jerk
alternet.org - Sept. 23, 2008

Not once did McCain look Barack Obama in the eye. That's right — John McCain refused to even look at Obama, a man who is making an historic bid to become the next president of the United States. Say what you will about Obama, but I don't think anyone believes that he does not deserve eye contact once in 90 minutes.

To Global Warming Skeptics and Al Gore Haters: I Totally Get It Now!
bravenewfilms.org - Oct. 16, 2008

You've convinced me. Now I understand, and not a moment too soon. I realize the truth about Al Gore and how this whole lie about global warming works. Let me see if I have this straight...

Slaughter Rule
MySpace - Feb. 15, 2007

A week ago, I witnessed the slaughtering and butchering of a goat named Little Girl. Little Girl was about six months old, and I had known her since the very first moments of her life. In the past, I had helped deliver goats to a nearby goat ranch to be slaughtered, but I had never stayed around to see what happened next.

The Thanksgiving vs. Black Friday Paradox
bravenewfilms.org - Nov. 23, 2007

Black Friday has little allure for me. Sure, some of those discounts are awfully tempting, but it's not worth my time or sanity. The problem is that it seems more and more like Black Friday is increasingly detracting from Thanksgiving. And in some cases, it's replacing it.

“Do You Remember 9/11?”: My Conversation With Two Conservatives
and a Marine
bravenewfilms.org - Oct. 8, 2007

That's a question I was actually asked at a barbecue this past weekend. That's a hell of a thing to ask a person you've only just met. It's akin to asking someone, "Do you have brain damage?" or "Are you a complete idiot?" It's like asking a parent who had lost a child, "Do you remember that your kid died?" It’s condescending beyond belief, but conservatives seem to think it’s clever.

Why MoveOn Was Right — And America Knows It
bravenewfilms.org - Sept. 28, 2007

The faux outrage by republicans (and way too many democrats) over MoveOn's "Petraeus Betray Us" ad is maddening for too many reasons, but let's start with the most important one: MOVEON WAS RIGHT. And America knows it.
