I started doing stand-up comedy in February 2009. Before then, I had never seriously considered doing it, though I've been fascinated by stand-up ever since hearing a cassette of Eddie Murphy's Delirious on the ride home from a Boy Scout campout. This interest was renewed years later when I saw Chris Rock's first HBO special, Bring the Pain.

After seeing a friend do a stand-up set at a small show in a Silver Lake bookstore, I decided to give it a try. I found a great open mic at a café near my apartment called the Spot, and after scouting it out for a few weeks, decided to give it a try. Since then, I've become a regular at the Spot (Wednesdays @ 7pm) and Westwood Brewco (Tuesdays @ 8pm). I have also done shows at Magicopolis (Santa Monica), the Stand-Up Super Squad Comedy Show (Venice) and uWink (Hollywood). I recently came in 2nd place at the Stand-Up Seoul's Rant for Ramen comedy show in Seoul, South Korea. I recently won the Best Ethnic award at the 2010 Scoomie Awards for LA comics.

I never thought about doing comedy professionally and don't know where it will lead. I do it because it's a great outlet and I find it endlessly fascinating to figure out what makes something funny.
